Stelle Transition Initiative - Mission Statement
Our neighborhood group has formed with an aim to discover how we can provide much more of our food and energy needs locally. By creating an action plan for a vibrant community and local economy, we will become more resilient in the face of climate fluctuations, economic instability, and dependence on fossil fuels. Our inspiration comes from the UK as expressed in the Transition Town Handbook by Rob Hopkins.
Worldwide, the Transition Town Initiatives are based on Permaculture Principals – Care of People, Care of Earth, and Fair Share. Our goal is to use these principals to design our Energy Descent Action Plan to bring abundance and vitality to our local Stelle community, organizations, businesses, and families by working and playing threefold through the Head, the Heart and Hands.
